Top 10 Urban Beaches in the World for Your Next Vacation

Nude beach lists are a dime a dozen. But NudeBeachMap.com recently released a list with a rather obvious and important quality to many, the "Top 10 Urban Nude Beaches Around the Globe," meaning, the best nude beaches accessible from a major city. And that actually changes things a lot. While nude beaches in Greece often account for a third of the top ten in many lists, Greece did not make the list when proximity to a major urban city was considered, or at least according to NudeBeachMap. And more interestingly, Canadian nude beaches were a favorite, and topped the list. NubeBeachMap explained its reason for this limitation (which, as

we, said makes sense): "locating a prime nude beach near a bustling city can be more challenging. Despite this, such beaches exist and are gaining popularity as a means to escape the fast-paced urban life. After all, what could be better than shedding your clothes and basking in the sun, sans fabric?" And so, NudeBeachMap "tallied up your ratings and crunched the numbers to bring you the top 10 urban nude beaches around the globe that you should definitely visit (in order from lowest to highest rating). These beaches are not only accessible from major urban centers but also wholeheartedly embrace the culture of nude sunbathing." According to NudeBeachMap, Canada's Wreck Beach in Vancouver topped the list because "Canada’s largest nude beach feels like it is a million miles away from civilization and stays true to its name – coming here you feel like you’ve been shipwrecked and landed on a nude oasis. Vendors ply the beach and sell everything you could wish for (and some things you probably haven’t tried since high school!). Wreck is the best of both worlds and the reason why it ranks number on the list. It’s only 25minutes away from bustling traffic in Downtown Vancouver but it feels like you’re on vacation somewhere else." In scoring the beaches, NudeBeachMap said "We assigned beaches a score based on the Nude Beach Map review and combined that with Google ratings. Finally we weighted beaches higher the closer they are located to the city centre."
